The Nikon 18-200 Zoom lens is a good all around lens to have in your camera bag. The range of zoom that it can cover is wide enough that it can produce good results when shooting close up such as indoor photgraphy or for landscapes. It also has enough zoom to provide decent results when shooting objects outdoors such as sporting events on smaller fields like volleyball and basketball.
There are a few downsides to the lens, namely that it is not the best at low light and that the zoom range is a compromise. The wide end of the zoom is not wide enough to pick get in everything you might want at close range and when trying capture things at a larger venue the zoom is not quite good enough. The answer to these criticisms is that a lens able to capture at lower light or at wider angles or higher zoom would require many thousands more dollars spent or multiple lenses. This lens is a good compromise that will cover most everyday situations.
